Vacancy at Aalochana Centre for Documentation and Research on Women, Pune for the post of a Programme Coordinator for Samvadini the Mobile Resource Centre (MRC)
Aalochana is a feminist resource, research and training centre for women. Aalochana currently works in three main program areas, The Resource Centre, Muskaan an Aalochana Initiative Against Child Sexual Abuse and Samvadini Aalochana’s Mobile Resource Centre.
The MRC is a programme that partners with grassroots women’s groups, NGOs, CBOs and communities with the objective of creating gender awareness through information dissemination and capacity building.
This is achieved through ongoing training, workshops for activists and interactive sessions with women in the communities. The programme which began in 2008 has been working in the urban and rural areas of Pune district. The duration of the current phase of the programme is from July 2012 to 2015
Job Description: The Programme Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing the programme and reports to the Coordinator of Aalochana. The job involves training, conducting awareness workshops, writing reports and traveling for at least ten days in a month. The programme coordinator will be assisted by a programme associate.
Qualifications:
- Masters in Social sciences / Masters in Social Work/ or related field.
- Command of spoken and written Marathi and English
- Good communication and writing skills
- Good computer skills
Work experience: 5-6 years experience of working with women’s groups in
training and capacity building on gender and related issues.
Consolidated salary Rs. 25000 per month.
